Impressions: This years Little Book release, "In Retrospect" delivers on its release notes; A blend of all 6 previous expressions as well as this years selection from Freddie Noe. The blend is well balanced and drinks well below its proof point. The nose is fruit forward, but sweet rather than tart. This is balanced with some spice notes such as cinnamon and clove. The older aged whiskies in the blend give a full bodied mouthfeel on the palate, with the signature beam note presenting itself on the back of the tongue along with a hint of the rye spices. This gives way to the return of fruit notes, with the applewood coming through. These flavors balance themselves out nicely. I opened this bottle on the first crisp night at the end of summer, and the flavor profiles of this blend gave me a sense of fall harvests, apple picking, roasted corn, and peanut brittle. While this is a limited release, I definitely recommend seeking out a bottle. It will not disappoint.

Rating - 9.2 (case worthy if it wasn't a limited edition)
